Roasted white sausage
Roasted white sausage is a traditional Polish delicacy. It is just one of many kinds of Polish sausages (Polska kielbasa), and if you want to read more about it, let me refer you to that site. You can bake it in the oven or on a grill, and the result is always delicious. Here is my way of preparing it.
Ingredients:
2-3 lbs of raw white sausage
2 medium onions
5 garlic cloves
2-3 tablespoons of oil
marjoram for taste
Directions:
- Grease the baking pan with oil and arrange the sausage.
- Puncture the sausage with a fork and grease it with the rest of the oil, crushed garlic and marjoram.
- Arrange onion slices around the sausage (and some additional garlic, if you wish).
- Add 1/4 cup of water and cover the pan with aluminum foil.
- Put into the preheated oven and bake for about 60 minutes at 375°F until lightly browned.
- Bake for 10 more minutes without the foil for extra crispy skin.
Serving
This is my simple way of baking white kielbasa. It’s really easy to make and the taste is unbelievable. Serve it hot or cold with ciabatta rolls, add some salad – and enjoy!
I have to say that I’m not the biggest fan of sausages, but the pic here looks like it’s prepared so well! Definitely Pinteristic!
I have never heard of white sausage. I guess maybe I need to go to that site and check it out. I, unfortunately love sausage but we have decided to only eat it on occasion now. This does look delicious though.
I never heard of it either but it looks very yummy!
I grew up with kielbasa, but never heard of white kielbasa. This sounds like a scrumptious AND easy way to prepare most any kind of sausage. Thanks so much! Pinned it too! :)
This looks so good. I will have to see if I can find a butcher that has this. WOW!
