Roasted white sausage

Roasted white sausage is a traditional Polish delicacy. It is just one of many kinds of Polish sausages (Polska kielbasa), and if you want to read more about it, let me refer you to that site. You can bake it in the oven or on a grill, and the result is always delicious. Here is my way of preparing it.

Ingredients:

2-3 lbs of raw white sausage
2 medium onions
5 garlic cloves
2-3 tablespoons of oil
marjoram for taste

Directions:

  1. Grease the baking pan with oil and arrange the sausage.
  2. Puncture the sausage with a fork and grease it with the rest of the oil, crushed garlic and marjoram.
  3. Arrange onion slices around the sausage (and some additional garlic, if you wish).
  4. Add 1/4 cup of water and cover the pan with aluminum foil.
  5. Put into the preheated oven and bake for about 60 minutes at 375°F until lightly browned.
  6. Bake for 10 more minutes without the foil for extra crispy skin.
